Reclamation is seeking a Water/Wastewater System Operator who is looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise in water treatment. ### Responsibilities
Operates multiple utility systems (Water Treatment Operations, Water Distribution Operator, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, and Wastewater Collection System) to provide domestic treated drinking water and maintain the distribution network for delivery of drinking water to all serviced connections.
Collects samples of Wastewater influent and effluent and treated drinking water from treatment plants, and distribution systems.
Performs a variety of tests related to wastewater discharge and the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Performs preventive inspections and maintenance on chemical feeders, chlorinators and other equipment.
Prepares required reports concerning the operation of the entire wastewater treatment facility and collection system and water treatment facility and distribution system and submits to the Arizona and Nevada Department of Environmental Resources and Environmental Protection Agency.

**Minimum Requirements for Water/Wastewater System Operator I:**This entry performance level requires the incumbent to have at least one certification by the State of Nevada as a Water Treatment Operator (Grade II); or the State of Arizona as a Wastewater Treatment Operator (Grade II). Other states water/wastewater certifications will be accepted if they are equal to or exceed the above certifications.
### Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out elements and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.
You must meet all qualification requirements, including any selective factors, by the closing date of this announcement.

**Probationary Period**: Placement in this position requires you to complete a one-year probationary period unless you have previously completed a probationary period.
**Driver's License/History**: Operation of a Government vehicle required; therefore, you must possess a valid state driver's license.
**Working Conditions**: Work involves both office and field work. Field work involves walking, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds. Work involves both mostly field work at various locations throughout the project with some work in an office environment. Is regularly exposed to high summer temperatures common to the desert southwest when working outdoors as well as exposure to moving machinery and noise levels such that safety equipment is utilized while doing the field work. The incumbent also works with some hazardous chemicals and is exposed to hazardous biological pathogens.
**Pre-employment Physical**: If selected, you are required to obtain and successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying to your ability to perform the duties of the position. This is not required if a comparable examination was required for placement in your current position and was completed within the last year; however, verifiable documentation of a comparable physical is required. Periodic (annual or biennial) physical examinations are required to be successfully passed for continued employment.
**Promotion Potential:** If you are selected at the lower grades, promotions may be made at a later date without further competition. However, identification of promotion potential in this announcement does not constitute a commitment or an obligation on the part of management to promote you at some future date. Such promotions will depend upon administrative approval, the continuing need for an actual assignment and the demonstrated performance of higher level duties. Full performance level is the III level.
**Telework:**Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework. Full time telework is not available for this position.
